Why the name Mana Tribe?

Mana: In Melanesian and Polynesian cultures, mana is a supernatural force that permeates the universe. Anyone or anything can have mana. They believed it to be a cultivation or possession of energy and power, rather than being a source of power. It is an intentional force. 

Tribe: A social division in a traditional society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader.

Meet the Founder

I am Sonia, free spirit, so in love with our beautiful planet's nature, wildlife and people that I realized I needed to come up with a project that would make sense for me and start living my purpose in life.

​I was born and grew up in France but always dreamed of adventures around the globe to learn from the different people of the world.

As soon as I turned 20, I went to study in Spain for one year and then didn't stop traveling solo and slowly, like when I was volunteering for months in Mexico after my Master's graduation in Tourism Management.

Living with local families, I realized that many tribes in the world were in danger of extinction and that one dialect is dying everyday in the world which causes the tribe's culture to die shortly after. 

As I myself come from a North African Amazigh tribe, it saddens me deeply and I strongly identify with all the different indigenous people of the world that are guardians of the oldest knowledge, memory and beliefs of Humanity.

I naturally started to think of ways to preserve the tribes, their land and most ancient cultures while being spiritually, consciously and intentionally aligned. I had found my purpose creating a project that would connect the most adventurous souls to the most remote tribes to simply experience their spirit and way of life.

It sounds very ambitious and risky I know, but we're unlimited beings able to make anything happen!
